Active Air

The Tacx Active Air is a device that regulates the air pressure in the tires of a race cyclist, developed by Idarə. When cycling trough the mountains, speeds up to 90 km/h can be archived. Of course, you want your bike to maintain maximal grip on the road. That’s where the Active Air comes in. When you hit a curve, the active air slightly lowers your tire pressure, to ensure you have maximal traction. When your speed has decreased, for example when ascending, the Active Air inflates the tire to minimize the rolling resistance and get you up that mountain as fast as possible! The Active Air is also very useful when you encounter cobbles and to protect your tire from blowing up from overheating. When descending at very high speeds, very highly pressurized tires can heat up so much, that they explode. By deflating the tire a little, the tire can lose its heat more easily to the road.
